Branson-area couple accused of sexually abusing children under 5
A Branson-area husband and wife face federal charges after authorities say they sexually assaulted children under 5 and recorded the acts on their phones.
Mark Millman, 36, and his wife Tara Millman, 41, were indicted on Friday in a criminal complaint of federal charges relating to the production of child pornography.
According to court documents, the Millmans first appeared on federal authorities’ radar this summer when investigators traced messages to them that had been posted to an online chat room where users were sharing images of child pornography.
Then, on Thursday, law enforcement officers from the Homeland Security Investigations and the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force served a search warrant at the Millmans home in Merriam Woods.
Court documents indicate that Mark Millman initially denied being involved in child pornography, but later admitted that he and his wife regularly searched the internet for her.
Mark Millman told authorities he and his wife had sexually acted on two children under the age of 5 while recording activity on their phones, court documents show.
Tara Millman also reportedly admitted that she and her husband had recorded each other sexually abusing a child.
Mark and Tara Millman were being held in Greene County Jail Friday. They did not have lawyers listed for this case.
The Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa and Convention Center website lists Mark Millman as executive chef. He has made several appearances on local television shows to promote the company.
Jon Davidson, managing director of Chateau on the Lake, declined to comment in detail on Mark Millman’s arrest, saying the company is waiting for official details of the arrest to be provided to them.
